We are currently looking to supply a SEND school with a Teaching Assistant to work with autistic children on either a 1:1 or small group basis. This position will be day-to-day with the potential to go long term or permanent for the successful candidate.

Coming from a background of previous teaching assistant experience, care, or even having a degree in psychology, performing arts or sports, you will use your experience to create great relationships to help students excel both inside and outside of the school setting.

The Role: As a Teaching Assistant you will support pupils, ensuring that they are getting the most out of their education.  You will work closely with a team of likeminded staff who share the same values and work together to achieve the same goals. You will be required to work on a 1:1 or 1:3 basis.

This role is currently day to day, however, for the successful candidate there could be the opportunity for long term work.

The school: Doncaster based, this school caters to children aged 5 – 19 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan with a primary diagnosis of Communication and Interaction Difficulties. Empowering their children to learn and achieve, their aim is to make sure pupils are valued both inside and outside of the setting.

By having small class sizes and high staff ratios who specialize in training and attend regular meetings with both parents and pupil, staff are pivotal to creating such a great environment for pupils to succeed.

What we need from you: Being adaptable in this role is key to being successful. You will be focused on following the ethos and aims of the school, while being a friendly face for students to go to in times of need. Being dedicated, motivated, and committed to providing a caring and exciting learning environment where children are valued as individuals are challenged and enabled to reach their full potential is essential to success in this role.

Experience working with PECS and knowledge in Makaton is desired for this position.
