Protocol Education has a fantastic opening for a SEMH Support Worker to join a highly regarded school supporting students who are disengaged from mainstream school.

About the School:

Based in Doncaster, This school caters for around a 100 pupils aged 5 – 19. Primarily, the students at this school have been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and associated Social, Emotional Mental Health. Each member of the staff is committed to providing a fulfilling education to each and every student in the school as well as being able to support students with day to day life.

About The Role:

Working as a SEMH Support Worker you will provide support for students who struggle with behavioral issues that may make them reluctant to engage in education. This will include being able to build up a rapport with students in order to help them regulate their behavior and inspire them to engage in lessons . You will also be someone the students can come too and offer your support in order to really make a difference in their educational careers. This position is available ASAP and ideally on a full-time basis. Initially, this is a temporary position for a term with the opportunity to become permanent if successful in the primary period.

What We Need From You:

If you have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or are passionate about improving the education for children with SEMH needs, this is the role for you. In yourself, you should be enthusiastic about your work as well as resilient and confident in your ability to deal with challenging behavior and encourage students to re-engage with education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
