Protocol Education is currently working closely with SEN schools in the Richmond/Molsey/Hounslow area who are seeking qualified and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants to work with them on long term basis.

We are looking for a very special person to be a TA in our Specialist Resource Provision for children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate existing effective practice for children with SEMH.

The successful TA will be experienced in working with children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. They will be confident in working with professionals from other agencies. They will have outstanding practice in their current position, and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Many of our TAs go on to teacher training positions and are also good experience for those with an interest in child psychology.

The TA will work within our SRP, under the direction of the Teacher in Charge as part of the existing Inclusion Team. They will implement exciting, innovative strategies and interventions that will engage pupils within the SRP and have a significant impact on progress. They will help ensure provision closely matches the needs of each individual as outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The role demands a clear understanding of nurture principles and the social and emotional aspects of learning. We would be particularly interested in someone who has experience of working with children with complex SEND in a mainstream or in a specialist setting.

This amazing TA needs to:

• Demonstrate a passion for learning and inclusion

• Be able to work creatively to engage the wider family and community in children’s learning in order to best meet their needs

• Be committed to our nurturing ethos in order to grow confident and happy learners

• Be patient and solution focussed in order to secure the best outcomes for each individual

• Enjoy being an active part of a dynamic, focussed team
