SEMH Learning Support Assistant

Location: North Tyneside
Pay: £95–£115 per day
Contract: Full-time / Long-term

We’re looking for a caring and confident SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in North Tyneside. You’ll be part of a supportive team that helps every pupil feel seen, valued, and ready to succeed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs across KS3 and KS4

  • Building positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and progress

  • Helping students develop emotional regulation and resilience

  • Working closely with pastoral and SEND teams to create a safe, structured environment

You’ll need:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH or additional needs

  • A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • (Bonus) Thrive-trained, or open to completing our free Thrive training to strengthen your approach and appeal to schools
