SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant
Pay: £90-£110 per day (PAYE, No umbrella companies)
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Contract: Full-time / Long term

This isn’t your typical school role. You’ll be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them navigate big feelings, challenging moments, and daily routines, while unlocking their potential.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 5–16
- Supporting young people with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Using restorative approaches to manage challenging behaviour
- Encouraging confidence, communication, and social skills
- Working closely with a supportive team that celebrates every step forward
What we’re looking for
- Experience in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, PRUs, or care settings
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Ability to build trust safely and consistently
- Warm communication skills with the ability to set clear, kind boundaries

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
