We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant educational institution in Central North West London. The role involves providing invaluable support to teaching staff, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring the academic success and well-being of secondary school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist subject teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects within the secondary curriculum.
  • Individualized Assistance: Provide tailored support to students, including those with special educational needs, ensuring their inclusion and understanding of lesson material.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in the creation of learning materials and resources, aiding in lesson planning and ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
  • Student Guidance: Mentor and guide students in their academic pursuits, offering pastoral care and contributing to their personal and social development.
  • Assessment Support: Aid in the assessment and grading of student work, providing constructive feedback and assisting in tracking academic progress.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work collaboratively with teaching staff, attending meetings, and contributing to educational initiatives within the school community.
  • Supervision: Support during breaks, lunchtimes, and extracurricular activities, ensuring a safe and positive school environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant in a secondary school.
  • A passion for education and a keen interest in supporting the academic and personal development of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability and patience to work with diverse learning needs and varying abilities among students.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the well-being and safety of students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field would be advantageous.
