On behalf of a mainstream secondary school in Hackney, Protocol Education are currently seeking to appoint a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to connect directly with brilliant children and young people and help them achieve their full potential.

You will be working 1:1, in small groups and supporting with whole class support, the age range you will be supporting is 11-16 year old students.

Daily duties will consist of helping the classroom teacher to prepare learning material and run classroom activities and supervising the class from time to time.

No teaching support experience is required for this role; this secondary school are seeking to appoint a practitioner who is eager to help vulnerable students to live happy and fulfil live.


Responsibilities:


• Collaborate with teachers to prepare learning materials and assist in the delivery of classroom activities.


• Provide hands-on support and supervision to students, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.


• Support students with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, fostering their development as individuals and facilitating their engagement with the world.


• Adapt to various classroom roles, both indoors and outdoors, based on individual requirements.


• Lead outdoor experiences and supervise students as they explore beyond the classroom.


• Contribute to the overall teamwork and mutual support within the school community.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.


• Adaptable and flexible, with the willingness to take on various classroom roles.


• Empathetic and responsive, with a caring approach to supporting students' needs.


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge, experiences, and learning.
