Secondary Support Assistant – Tower Hamlets

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Want to support young people who are finding their feet in secondary school? We’re working with a vibrant, well-led school in Tower Hamlets that’s looking for a Secondary Support Assistant who can bring patience, positivity, and a steady presence to the classroom.

You’ll be part of a friendly, proactive team that genuinely looks after one another. No two days are the same, and you’ll play a key role in helping students stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting students in lessons across a mix of subjects

  • Providing targeted help to pupils who need an extra boost

  • Assisting teachers with behaviour, routines, and classroom activities

  • Building strong relationships that help students stay calm and focused

  • Supporting small group work or short interventions where needed

What they’re looking for

  • Experience working with young people aged 11 to 16

  • A calm, confident communicator who can hold their own in a busy classroom

  • Someone who’s reliable, encouraging, and quick to build rapport

  • Any SEND or behaviour support experience is very welcome

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
