Full-Time Secondary SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Horncastle

Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Horncastle on a full-time basis.

Role Details:

  • Position: Secondary SEMH Learning Support Assistant
  • Location: Horncastle, Lincolnshire
  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £85-£95 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Duration: Ongoing, starting ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students both academically and emotionally, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or other special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of SEMH care, behaviour management techniques, and effective learning strategies.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
