Science Teacher – Maternity Cover
Start date: February
We’re working closely with a welcoming secondary school to appoint a Science teacher for a maternity cover starting in February. This is a school where high expectations, strong relationships, and genuine care for pupils sit at the heart of everything they do.
Students benefit from a broad, stimulating curriculum delivered by skilled and committed staff who believe that every pupil deserves the chance to succeed. Learning is inclusive, purposeful, and designed to help young people become confident, curious learners who are ready for the next stage of their journey. Aspirations are high, and pupils are supported to reach ambitious destinations that truly reflect their potential.
The school places real importance on helping pupils “let their light shine”. Whether that’s through Science lessons, practical investigations, enrichment opportunities, sport, or creative activities, students are encouraged to explore their strengths and feel recognised for their talents. Well-equipped facilities and modern resources support both classroom learning and a wide range of after-school opportunities.
Reading and literacy are also a clear priority, not just as part of the curriculum but as essential life skills. Pupils are supported to become confident readers, with progress and engagement actively celebrated.
Pastoral care is a real strength here. The school is built around strong relationships, clear routines, and a culture where pupils feel safe, valued, and listened to. Staff work together to create a calm, inclusive environment where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand, and where children are encouraged to enjoy learning, not just achieve results.
This role would suit you if you:
-
Are a qualified Science teacher or an ECT keen to build experience
