Science Teacher

Currently looking to recruit a Science Teacher to work within a Secondary alternative provision in the Middlesbrough locality. 

Must be a confident and resilient individuals with previous experience of Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science.

About the role:

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons. (the school is flexible with specialisms - Physics/ Biology/ Chemistry)

  • Successfully manage the behaviour of the class following the school’s behaviour policy.

  • Practical and Theory Teaching Required
  • Foster positive relationships with students by being a role model and ensure students achieve their full potential.

  • Attendance at parents evenings and meetings required
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and the rest of the team to ensure the smooth running of the school day and that students achieve the best outcomes. 

  • Act as an ambassador for Protocol Education by being punctual and professional at all times.


You should apply for this role if you:

  • Live local to Middlesbrough or within commutable distance

  • Hold QTS / QTLS with a Science / Physics/ Biology/ Chemistry Specialism 

  • Have strong subject knowledge and are confident at delivering Science lessons at all levels. 

  • Have previous experience of delivering the UK Science cirriculum 

  • Are an excellent communicator and have a natural ability to work and build positive rapport with young people.

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service

  • Can provide professional references covering 2 years of recent employment history 
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively as well as taking ownership of your own workload
