Salary: £140 - 220 per day

We’re working with a friendly, inclusive secondary school to find a Science teacher for a maternity cover starting in February. This is a place where high expectations sit comfortably alongside strong relationships and genuine care for every pupil.

The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum, brought to life by committed staff who believe every young person deserves the chance to do well. Learning here is purposeful and inclusive, helping students grow into confident, curious learners who feel ready for whatever comes next. Ambition is encouraged, and pupils are supported to aim high and move on to destinations that truly match their potential.

A key part of the school’s ethos is helping pupils to “let their light shine”. Whether that’s through Science lessons, hands-on experiments, enrichment activities, sport, or creative opportunities, students are encouraged to explore their strengths and feel proud of what they can do. Modern facilities and well-resourced classrooms support learning throughout the day, alongside a varied and popular after-school offer.

Reading and literacy are a real focus too, not just in lessons but as vital life skills. Pupils are supported to build confidence as readers, with progress celebrated and reading for pleasure actively encouraged.

Pastoral care is a real strength. The school is built on positive relationships, clear routines, and a calm, inclusive culture where pupils feel safe, listened to, and valued. Staff work closely together to create an environment where wellbeing and learning go hand in hand, and where students are supported to enjoy school as well as succeed.

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Are a qualified Science teacher or an ECT looking to build experience

  • Enjoy delivering engaging, inclusive Science lessons

  • Believe in high expectations, backed up by strong pastoral support

  • Want to be part of a collaborative, values-led school community

This is a lovely opportunity to step into a well-supported maternity cover role where you can focus on great teaching, building relationships, and making a positive impact from day one.
