We’re partnering with a friendly, well-run secondary school to find a Science teacher for a maternity cover starting in February. This is a school where high expectations sit comfortably alongside strong relationships and genuine care for every pupil.

You’ll be joining a team who believe great teaching changes lives. Lessons are purposeful, inclusive, and designed to spark curiosity, not just tick boxes. Staff work together to deliver a broad and engaging curriculum that helps students grow into confident learners, ready for whatever comes next. Ambitions are high here, and pupils are encouraged and supported to aim big.

A real focus of the school is helping pupils “let their light shine”. Whether that’s through Science experiments, practical investigations, enrichment activities, sport, or creative opportunities, students are supported to explore their strengths and feel proud of what they can do. Classrooms are well resourced, and facilities are modern and thoughtfully set up to support learning both in and out of lessons.

Reading and literacy are a clear priority too. The school is committed to helping pupils become confident, enthusiastic readers, with progress recognised and celebrated along the way.

Pastoral care is one of this school’s real strengths. Clear routines, calm expectations, and positive relationships create an environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and listened to. Staff work closely together to make sure wellbeing and learning go hand in hand, so children don’t just achieve, they enjoy coming to school.

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Are a qualified Science teacher, or an ECT keen to build confidence and experience

  • Enjoy delivering engaging, inclusive Science lessons

  • Believe in high expectations paired with strong pastoral support

  • Want to be part of a collaborative, values-led school community

This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a well-supported maternity cover where you can focus on great teaching, build meaningful relationships, and make an impact from day one.
