Protocol Education are recruiting for recent graduates and aspiring teachers to provide learning support and cover supervision in secondary schools across Newcastle and North Tyneside.

As part of your role as a teaching assistant you will be supporting children with SEND (Special educational need and disabilities) in a mainstream secondary school. While you will be providing support in all areas of the curriculum (including Maths, English and Science), you are not required to hold prior subject knowledge in these areas). You will be required to work on a full time basis (Monday to Friday during term time). Roles are available ASAP and will last until at least July 2023.

As a cover supervisor you will be responsible for supervising a class of pupils aged 11-16 years. All work will be planned and set for you by the subject teacher, you will manage behaviour and ensure safeguarding. This is flexible work. You should be available a minimum of 3 days  week.

To be considered for this role you must be available to work Monday-Friday (Term time only). You will live in or around the Tyne and Wear area (Protocol Education will work with you to find a role in one of our local partnership schools to ensure minimum amount of travel). You will be educated to  degree level or hold relevant experience working with children. This is an entry level position and no previous experience of working with children is required at graduate level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
