School Facilities Manager

Hours: Full-time, working on a rotating shift pattern
Shift 1: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 2:30pm, Friday 6:30am to 2:00pm
Shift 2: Monday to Thursday, 10:30am to 6:30pm, Friday 11:00am to 6:00pm
Contract: Long term and potential Temp to perm for the right person.
Start date: April 2026

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Facilities Manager to play a vital role in keeping a busy school environment safe, secure, and running smoothly every day.

The Role

As School Facilities Manager, you will be central to the day-to-day operation of the site. Working on a shift basis, you will help ensure the premises are well maintained, secure, and ready to support learning from the moment the doors open.

The role includes responsibility for responding to on-call call-outs when required and working closely with staff and external contractors to maintain high standards across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly school environment
  • Carrying out minor repairs and routine maintenance
  • Managing site security, including opening and closing procedures
  • Overseeing on-site contractors and monitoring works
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times

What You’ll Need

You will have previous experience in facilities, premises, or building management, with a solid understanding of health and safety and site security. You’ll be practical, organised, and proactive, confident in carrying out general repairs, moving equipment safely, and following guidance on tools, materials, and equipment.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role involves travel and responding to on-call call-outs when required.
