Attendance Officer
Full Time
We’re looking for a calm, organised and proactive Attendance Officer who can help boost attendance, support student welfare, and play a key role in making sure every child gets the best chance to succeed.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the friendly, steady presence behind the school’s attendance systems, making sure nothing slips through the net. Your day-to-day will include:

Keeping SIMS up to date with accurate absence and punctuality information

Supporting students and families through attendance challenges

Handling daily attendance tracking and intervention cycles

Carrying out home visits or meetings when needed

Working closely with staff, parents and the Local Authority

Helping to encourage positive attendance across the school community

Preparing reports and statistics for SLT, the Education Welfare Officer and external partners

Supporting safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
-
Providing first aid support when required

Supporting whole-class supervision during short-term teacher absence

What you’ll bring

Strong administrative skills and sharp attention to detail

Confidence using SIMS or similar school systems

Knowledge of attendance legislation, or the willingness to learn

A friendly, approachable manner with students and parents

A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and fair access to education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
