School Receptionist – Secondary School

A busy and well-established secondary school in Hackney is seeking an experienced and professional Receptionist to join their front office team on a full-time basis starting 23rd February.
This is a key front-facing role within the school, requiring someone confident, organised and experienced in working within a secondary school environment.
The Role

Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies.

Manage the school reception area in a professional and welcoming manner.

Handle incoming calls and email enquiries efficiently.

Use SIMS to manage student data, attendance and general administration tasks.

Support attendance monitoring and daily registers.

Maintain safeguarding and visitor sign-in procedures.

Provide general administrative support to the wider school office team.
Essential Requirements

Previous experience working in a secondary school setting.

Strong administrative background.

Proven experience using SIMS (essential).

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures in schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
