Qualified Teaching Assistant – Secondary & Sixth Form Support

Location: Sunderland (SR2)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a confident, Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We’re seeking someone who thrives in a specialist setting supporting pupils aged 11–19 with Autism and complex learning needs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver high-quality, targeted support during lessons across KS3 to Sixth Form

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help learners access the curriculum

  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to adapt resources and strategies

  • Support social communication and independence skills

  • Encourage positive behaviour and learner engagement

You’ll have

  • Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience in SEND settings, ideally with Autism spectrum needs

  • Calm, empathetic and dependable approach

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with young people
