Job Description
The role of a Qualified English Teacher based in West Thurrock, Essex, involves delivering high-quality English language education to students. The teacher will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Job Duties:
- Plan and deliver lessons that meet the curriculum requirements
- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments and exams
- Provide feedback to students to support their learning and development
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in English or related field
- Strong knowledge of the English language and literature
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Experience teaching English at secondary school level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Up-to-date knowledge of educational best practises
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or English
- Experience in teaching exam preparation courses (e.g., GCSE, A-level)
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with standard school hours
- Classroom-based teaching with some administrative responsibilities
- Potential for involvement in extracurricular activities and school events
