Protocol Education is currently seeking recent Graduates, Qualified Teaching Assistants, Care Assistants, etc, to work as a Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant, at a school in Manchester (United Kingdom), to begin ASAP (pending clearance).

In this highly rewarding role, You will be supporting vulnerable children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, such as Anxiety/Depression/complex learning disabilities, or being identified as having a statement of an educational need or an Educational, health and care plan (EHCP). The impact of COVID-19 on young children's mental health has significantly increased, resulting in a higher demand for support across schools in the UK.

This role is perfect for applicants with backgrounds in Care/Psychology for example who are seeking a position working in the likes of Child Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or to be a Educational Psychologist.  

Key requirements

  • Working Monday-Friday (term-time only)
  • Hours of between typically 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Have excellent communication skills 
  • Have a passion for supporting children
  • Ideally be educated to degree level/equivalent
