A warm, inclusive primary school in Hayes is looking for a Psychology Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, social communication needs and SEMH.
This is a long-term, full-time role — perfect if you're considering a career in Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Teaching, or Child Mental Health.

This isn’t a generic support role — the school specifically wants someone who already understands the challenges and strategies involved in working with SEND pupils.


⭐️ The role:

  • 1:1 and small-group SEND support (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language)

  • Emotional regulation and behaviour support

  • Helping pupils develop communication and social interaction skills

  • Using visuals, routines, sensory strategies and modelling

  • Liaising with SENCo, class teachers and external agencies

  • Supporting personalised learning plans


⭐️ You MUST have:

  • A Psychology (or related) degree

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in schools, tuition, youth work or specialist settings

  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, sensory needs or SEMH

  • Patience, resilience and a genuinely nurturing approach

Desirable:

  • Autism Awareness training

  • Experience with behaviour regulation

  • Knowledge of child development and cognition

  • Interest in SLT, Educational Psychology or mental health fields
