Protocol Education are currently working with a local Secondary School in Newcastle upon Tyne who are seeking passionate Graduates to work as a Learning Support Assistant in their school. This is a great opportunity for anyone considering a career in Teaching or Educational Psychology, for example, to gain direct classroom experience whilst being paid in a rewarding setting.
The role will consist of working with and supporting children with Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing 1:1 and group in-class support. Some children may display challenging behaviours. You will be responsible for encouraging the children academically and supporting them with their targets. Experience is not needed for this role.
You must be available to work Monday- Friday (Full-time) and will need an Enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one. You must live in Newcastle upon Tyne (United Kingdom).
We have roles available immediately (pending clearance) up until July 2023.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold a university degree
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have an Enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one
- Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
- Have a supporting and encouraging manner with young children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
