Primary Teacher – West Denton, Newcastle
Protocol Education is working with a Primary School in West Denton, a well-regarded and inclusive two-form entry school in Newcastle, to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teacher to cover a long-term position starting after half-term.

About the role
You will teach a mixed-ability KS2 class of 28 pupils. Behaviour is well managed across the school through clear routines and a supportive ethos. Pupils are motivated and respond well to structure and consistency. Planning is completed collaboratively within the year group, with shared resources and weekly PPA time scheduled on Wednesday afternoons.
The role includes:

Full class teaching responsibility following the school’s curriculum map and schemes of work

Close liaison with the parallel class teacher for medium-term planning and assessment moderation

Regular communication with parents and carers through ClassDojo and scheduled consultation evenings

Contribution to staff meetings, phase planning sessions, and enrichment activities (e.g. Reading Week, sports events)

Candidate requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching within Key Stage 2

Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and current assessment practices

Ability to plan effectively for a mixed-ability class, differentiating for pupils with SEND and EAL

Confidence using formative assessment to guide teaching and maintain pupil progress

Commitment to contributing fully to school life and professional collaboration
