If you’re a qualified teacher looking for flexibility, variety, or a better work-life balance, supply teaching could be just what you need. We work closely with a wide mix of primary schools across Newcastle and Gateshead, and they’re regularly looking for reliable, confident supply teachers to step in and keep learning ticking along. From seasoned pros with years of classroom experience to ECTs keen to build confidence across different settings, there’s a place for you here.

These are real classroom roles where you’ll teach, lead the room, and make a difference, without the long-term pressure. Whether you want one day a week or a full timetable, we’ll help you find something that fits around you.

What you’ll be doing
Your typical working hours are 8:30 – 15:30, including a 30-minute break. No two days are the same, but a typical day could involve:

  • Taking full class responsibility across EYFS, KS1, or KS2

  • Delivering pre-set lessons and keeping learning on track

  • Creating a calm, positive classroom environment

  • Managing behaviour confidently and fairly

  • Adapting quickly to different schools and routines

  • Working alongside friendly staff who’ll show you the ropes

Benefits of the job?

  • Guaranteed pay for at least 3 days per week – even if you don’t work all 3 days
  • Access to FREE CPD and training to keep your skills sharp

  • Competitive daily rates
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant who gets supply life

  • Honest bookings with proper information, no guesswork

We’re looking for teachers who are adaptable, reliable, and happy to jump in and lead the room.

Why choose supply teaching?

  • Choose when and where you work

  • Teach without planning, marking, or meetings

  • Experience a range of schools and year groups

  • Fit work around family, studies, or other commitments

  • Fall back in love with teaching, minus the burnout

If you enjoy teaching, like variety, and want flexibility without losing that classroom buzz, supply teaching could be a brilliant move.
