Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to primary school students with special educational needs
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Work closely with teachers to create a positive learning environment
  • Help students with personal care and mobility needs
  • Support students in classroom activities and during break times

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not compulsory
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting
  • Knowledge of special educational needs practises and strategies
  • Ability to adapt support techniques to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in special educational needs
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours may vary depending on school requirements
  • May involve physical activity such as assisting with student mobility
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour from students
  • Regular collaboration with teaching staff and educational specialists

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
