A specialist primary setting in Gateshead is seeking a Primary SEND Teacher to lead a small autism-focused class. Pupils follow highly personalised timetables and respond well to teachers who are patient, structured and steady.

Your role
• Delivering sensory friendly, visually structured lessons
• Creating individual communication systems (PECS, visuals, symbols)
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation
• Using TEACCH style approaches and predictable routines
• Working closely with experienced support staff

What you’ll bring
• Experience in autism provisions or SEND classrooms
• Strong behaviour support skills
• Warmth, consistency and excellent teamwork
• An ability to celebrate the small steps that matter

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
