About the Role

We’re seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Newcastle. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who enjoys designing creative, engaging lessons that help every child thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally.

You’ll plan and deliver well-structured lessons across the primary curriculum, adapting your teaching to meet diverse needs and supporting each pupil’s progress and wellbeing. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or recently qualified, you’ll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking school community that values collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum

  • Create a positive, stimulating learning environment where every pupil feels valued

  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs

  • Work closely with support staff, colleagues, and parents to promote pupil development

  • Uphold school policies and safeguarding standards at all times

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Confident classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Enthusiastic, creative, and able to inspire curiosity and confidence in learners

  • Flexible and proactive, with a collaborative approach to teaching

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
