We are working with a supportive and welcoming primary school in Chelmsford seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and progress across the school.

The Role

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes in the absence of the teacher

  • Supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2 (depending on experience)

  • Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs where required

  • Contributing to planning, assessment, and classroom management

  • Working collaboratively with teachers and senior leadership

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification (Level 4 or above) – essential

  • Proven experience working as an HLTA in a UK primary school

  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach

Safeguarding & Compliance

All candidates must have:

  • Two professional references

  • Enhanced DBS (sighted or on the Update Service)

  • Right to Work in the UK
