Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education are working with a vibrant school in Hackney who are looking to appoint a HLTA to join them in September for the full academic year.

For the right candidate, this could lead to a full-time contract with the school.

This school is a short walk away from Highbury and Islington Station.

The successful candidate will be a confident TA who is comfortable covering classes, running interventions, running phonics sessions and working with children with EAL.

This could be a great role for a TA who is looking for the next step in their career or for an ECT who is looking for more classroom teaching experience without the workload of a classroom teacher.

This role is full-time and term time only. 

This lovely 1 form entry school has a very low turnover and the successful candidate would be joining a welcoming and happy team.

Qualities, Roles and responsibilities 

  • Teaching core subjects, Literacy, Numeracy, Physical Education and Social Science
  • Developing pupils’ abilities and interests with a wide range of creative activities
  • Encouraging children’s personal development 
  • Building relationships with parents including organising parent, teacher meetings
  • Supervising extra-curricular activities 
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons designed to meet the individual needs of each student
  • Have a calm and consistent appraoch to teaching
  • Be professional and passionate about working with young children
  • Have good organisational skills 
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team 
  • Have patience and be reliable
