An Outstanding school in the North of Bristol is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic individual to help assist classrooms across KS1 + KS2. A Classroom Assistant is a vital role within a Primary School - you will be helping the class teacher with a variety of tasks and set up of activities, build strong relationships with students - support them with their learning, maintain behaviour management in and around the classroom and help students in 1:1 or small group settings. The school are looking for a confident and adaptable individual who is a good team player and can integrate well within their supportive school environment.
About you:
- Caring and engaging.
- Can calmly deal with stressful situations.
- Have previous experience of working in a school environment/with children (not essential but desirable– you will learn lots on the job!)
- Pro active in supporting class teacher.
You in the role:
- Establish authentic relationships and trust with students.
- Collaborate with class teaching in supporting students progress.
- Work with students in groups or 1:1 setting to check understanding of learning.
- Use school behaviour policy to reinforce positive behaviour and classroom routine.
- Can communicate tasks clearly so that students of all abilities can understand.
- Help with classroom + material preparation, clearing up after lessons and general admin tasks.
