What skills and experience we're looking for

Protocol Education are on the search for a reliable physics teacher to join us from January 2024, the ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across KS3 to KS5 - a real interest in developing teaching and learning is also important. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher to join an academy which is committed to providing high quality professional development opportunities and support a science team on its journey to ‘Outstanding’. The Academy is value driven with an unshakeable belief in human potential and are proud of their staff and students. They have the highest expectations of them in terms of academic achievement, personal development, attitude, behaviour, attendance, and appearance.

What the school offers its staff

Their desire as a team is for their curriculum to foster a desire for pupils to take Science beyond school and go into STEM based careers.

Their curriculum has been designed as a course of study where our students see the same big ideas throughout their time at the secondary school, where each encounter with these big ideas increases in complexity and reinforces previous learning.

They also see that Science is a logical interconnected web of knowledge because each part of science is connected to every other part of science, it can be closely linked like cells and evolution, or through shared foundations like atoms, ions, electrolysis and calculating the charge passing through the electrolysis circuit. So, their curriculum is taught as a subject in years 7-11 before pupils can specialise when studying KS5 subjects.
