Cover Supervisor - Performing Arts and Drama backgrounds

Are you a performing arts and drama student graduating in 2022 or a recent graduate in the subject?

Are you interested in a career in teaching or using your performance skills to work with children?

What will you do?

You will be working in schools in Sunderland as a cover supervisor or learning support assistant. As a cover supervisor you will cover the class in the absence of the teacher. All the work will be planned and set for you by the class teacher. You will be responsible for the safety and behaviour management of the children in the class. Children will be aged between 11-16. You will ensure the class is on track with the work that has been set by the class teacher. You will cover classes across the curriculum.

Aa learning support assistant you will use your creativity to support children with a range of Special Educational needs in subjects across the curriculum like English, Maths and Science. You will also have the opportunity to work in music, drama and art.

Your previous training means that you have the presence that is needed to captivate a classroom of teenagers and the empathy needed to work with SEND pupils. You are able to think on your feet and can reshape or adjust to situations well.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
