About the role:

Protocol Education are currently recruiting performing arts graduates/ students Cover supervisors to be based in the Newcastle upon Tyne area.

Those who are/have studied performing arts are confident individuals which is a key attribute to being successful in this role.

The nature of this role is very flexible and is typically on a daily basis, although schools do take on full-time cover supervisors.

Cover supervisors are required to oversee the classroom during the absence of the teacher. They are in the classroom to monitor the pupils learning, to ensure they are making progress and being productive. This role will include being a role model in the classroom with children who are at all stages of their educational development. Individuals in this role need to act as positive role model for the children and provide support for their learning. 

It is not required to have experience as a cover supervisor, it would be preferable if candidates had some experience being based within an educational setting.

Candidates should:

  • Feel confident in new settings and be prepared to deliver a wide variety of work.
  • Feel comfortable working with children of all ages.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Feel confident supervising and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
