About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our dynamic school community in the Teesside area. You will play a pivotal role in promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and teamwork among students of all abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to inspiring young people through physical education and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (and potentially KS5)
- Foster positive learning environments that encourages students to reach their potential
- Organise and supervise a range of sports activities, clubs, and events
- Support students in developing lifelong skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience
- Ensure the safety and welfare of students during physical activities
- Contribute to whole-school development, including pastoral responsibilities where appropriate
- Liaise with other staff to support the physical and academic progress of students
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Relevant degree or qualification in physical education or a related field
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for physical education and student development
- Ability to teach a range of sports and adapt to the needs of students with different physical abilities
- Have an Enhanced DBS and registered on Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Experience coaching or leading extracurricular activities
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety in PE
