Secondary schools across Gateshead are recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer to work with pupils requiring additional emotional, behavioural, or attendance-related support. This Pastoral Support Officer role plays a key part in helping students remain engaged with education and school routines.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with behaviour, wellbeing, and attendance
- Working with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis
- Liaising with pastoral teams, teachers, and external agencies
- Supporting students during lessons and unstructured times
Requirements:
- Experience in a pastoral, youth, or school-based role is preferred but not essential
- A strong interest in student wellbeing and inclusion
- Ability to build professional working relationships
