We’re recruiting a Pastoral Support Assistant to join a specialist setting that supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
You’ll help pupils manage the school day — from morning check-ins to debriefs after challenging moments. You’ll be a consistent, reassuring presence who helps turn difficult days into learning opportunities.
Key responsibilities:

Provide daily pastoral and emotional support to pupils

Support with behaviour management and restorative practice

Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff

Encourage attendance, engagement, and progress
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young people in SEMH, youth work, or care settings

Can stay calm and supportive in challenging situations

Brings empathy, humour, and teamwork to everything they do

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
