Pastoral Support Assistant – SEND & SEMH Focus

Location: South Tyneside
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)

This role is perfect for someone who wants to support pupils beyond the classroom. You’ll work within a pastoral team helping pupils with attendance, wellbeing, regulation and positive routines.

In this role you’ll:

  • Provide wellbeing and emotional support to vulnerable pupils

  • Help pupils settle into classes and rebuild confidence

  • Support attendance routines and transitions

  • Work closely with families, pastoral leads and safeguarding teams

  • Encourage resilience, independence and positive choices

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has pastoral, mentoring or SEND experience

  • Connects well with pupils who struggle socially or emotionally

  • Brings calm, care and consistency to every day

  • Drives and is happy to travel in the local area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
