A specialist school in Gateshead is looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant who can bring calm, consistency, and genuine care to pupils who need a little extra support throughout the day. What you’ll be doing as a Pastoral Support Assistant

Providing pastoral support to pupils who may need help navigating difficult moments.

Building trusting, positive relationships to help pupils feel settled and supported.

Working one-to-one or in small groups to promote emotional regulation and resilience.

Supporting teachers and pastoral staff with wellbeing plans and behaviour strategies.

Encouraging communication, confidence, and positive decision-making.

Experience in pastoral work, youth support, or SEND is helpful but not essential, as full guidance will be provided.
