Role summary
We are looking for a calm, reliable and committed Teaching Assistant to work flexibly in the setting. The role may cover daily posts or part-time hours across term-time. You will support pupils in their classrooms, assist with structured routines, help with learning, support emotional regulation and promote a safe, inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities

Support pupils with SEND access their learning, working closely with classroom staff.

Assist with implementing visual aids, structured routines and sensory breaks as required.

Help manage behaviours of concern in a trauma-informed way, using de-escalation strategies and emotional regulation techniques.

Contribute to a positive, calm environment where each pupil’s dignity and wellbeing is respected.

Collaborate with staff, therapists and families to support each pupil’s progress and preparation for adulthood.
Skills & experience we’re looking for

Experience working with young people with SEN or complex behaviour (desirable).

Confidence using or willingness to learn visual aids (e.g., PECS), structured routines and sensory support.

Ability to remain calm under pressure, show empathy, patience and strong observational skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills, flexible approach to working hours.

A commitment to inclusive practice and to the ethos of a specialist setting.
