On behalf of a mainstream secondary school located in Barking and Dagenham, Protocol Education are seeking to appoint part time Teaching Assistant to join their Learning and Support Team.

The ideal candidate must be proactive, organised and passionate about supporting the students with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

This role will require you to assist students academically in classroom settings and practically in the community.

Previous experience of supporting secondary-aged students with SEN needs would be desirable but is not essential.

The role of a Learning Support Assistant is suitable for graduates who are interested in teaching or working towards a career in Psychology.

Teaching Assistant’s Skills:  

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills   
  • Competent ICT skills   
  • Be positive and creative in meeting the needs of the students and enhancing their outcomes   
  • Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team   

Teaching Assistant’s Experience:  

  • Relevant knowledge and experience of young people within age range    
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles   
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.   
  • Experience of working within an inclusive setting
