About the role:

Protocol Education are currently recruiting on behalf of an alternative provision, for qualified Teachers in Nottingham.

The right candidate will have a friendly and positive approach to teaching, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with individual children. Being able to work in a team of other professionals is also an integral part of this role.

You will need to be confident with de-escalation strategies, tough and know how to handle challenging behaviours.

You must also be empathetic and understanding that a lot of the people you will be working with could have severe or complex special needs.

Additionally, to classroom work, other responsibilities may include:

  • Support in immersion rooms
  • Support in sensory rooms
  • Outdoor activities
  • Teaching life and other vocational skills

  • Expects and maintains a calm, well-ordered and purposeful learning environment

Successful applicants must have:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (either a PGCE or Cert Ed)

-          A UK DBS or willing to undertake one.

-          Minimum of 2 satisfactory teaching references.

The main purpose of providing holistic, nurturing, and exceptional education to re-engage learners who are unable to access mainstream education. They understand that all learners have been on a personal journey through education which at times may have been turbulent, leaving them feeling vulnerable and disengaged. Therefore, they work closely with our commissioners, students, and parents to ensure flexible, individualised educational intervention where students feel valued and able to succeed.

Their core focus is Maths and English KS3 and KS4, with PSHE and pastoral care incorporated into our Pupil's timetables. We also offer range of other subjects and KS3 and 4.
