SEN Support Jobs Special Needs

Looking for rewarding, long-term teaching work after half-term? Look no further!

We’re working with a friendly, inclusive primary school in Bristol who are looking for a calm, confident teacher to support a Reception child on a 1:1 basis after half term.

This role is all about building trust and consistency. You’ll be a steady presence in the classroom, helping one child feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with their learning. A nurturing approach, clear routines, and a good understanding of early years development will really shine here.

You’ll support early phonics, number foundations, and communication through playful, purposeful activities, adapting learning to suit the child’s individual needs while working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

It’s a lovely opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s first school experience, in a school that genuinely values relationships, patience, and doing things properly.

Pay & Benefits:

  •       Daily rates from £92-£94, paid weekly via PAYE. No deductions, no surprises
  •       Teaching without the Sunday-night stress. No endless planning, no unnecessary meetings, just great children, supportive staff, and flexibility that works for you
  •       Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via PAYE
  •       Free access to our CPD Academy
  •       A local Bristol consultant who genuinely knows their schools

What this role offers:

  •       A welcoming, inclusive primary school in Bristol with a strong focus on support and teamwork
  •       A consistent 1:1 long-term placement after half term, giving you the chance to build meaningful relationships
  •       Clear routines, structured days, and thorough handovers, especially important in EYFS and KS1
  •       The opportunity to focus on one child while still being part of a wider, caring school team

Experience we’re looking for:

  •       Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  •       Have recent UK experience in EYFS or KS1, ideally with additional or SEND needs
  •       Be confident building strong, trusting relationships and creating a calm, reassuring learning environment
  •       Feel comfortable supporting early phonics, early maths, and play-based learning at a child’s pace
  •       Be flexible, patient, and keen to stay hands-on in the classroom while enjoying the variety supply offers

What We Need to Get You Cleared for Work:

  •      Passport
  •      Two proofs of address, such as driving licence, utility bill or council tax letter
  •      CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
  •      Two years of references, including SEN or childcare where applicable
  •      OSPC if you have lived overseas for three months or more in the last five years

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
