Protocol Education are working closely with a Nursery in Shropshire to recruit a Nursery Practitioner on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate would be available to start immediately and work until the end of August, with the potential to extend.

The Nursery has 2 classes from ages 2-4 that use the UK EYFS curriculum as a guide. They highlight the importance of a child’s attitude to learning and their ability to play, explore and think critically about the world around them.

The three characteristics are:

  1. Playing and Exploring – children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’
  2. Active Learning – children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements
  3. Creating and Thinking Critically – children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8-4 or 9-5 on an alternative weekly basis.

The nursery day is structured to include free flow and focused activities. These are designed to prepare the children for school life. The purpose of free flow activities is to support and encourage children to make their own choices and to be independent learners. Children learn best when they are given autonomy to make choices.
