Music Teacher – KS3 & KS4

Pay: £163 – £265 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term placement

Protocol Education are working with a new client, a vibrant and inclusive 11–16 school in North Birmingham, to recruit a passionate Music Teacher to join their creative faculty from January 2026 or sooner if possible.

At the school, the arts are at the heart of school life students perform regularly, collaborate on productions, and are encouraged to explore their creativity in and out of the classroom. The school is proud of its purpose-built performing arts block, complete with soundproof practice rooms, a recording suite, and a 200-seat theatre.

 

The Role

As a Music Teacher, you’ll:

  • Teach KS3 and KS4 Music across mixed-ability groups

  • Prepare students for GCSE AQA Music, focusing on composition, performance, and theory

  • Deliver dynamic, engaging lessons that inspire creativity and teamwork

  • Lead extracurricular opportunities such as Choir Club, Rock Band, or Music Tech Club

  • Collaborate with the Performing Arts team on concerts, school productions, and events

  • Support whole-school initiatives around wellbeing and creativity

 

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • A qualified Music Teacher (QTS or QTLS) with experience teaching KS3–KS4

  • Confident in both classroom teaching and leading extracurricular music activities

  • Skilled in performance, composition, or music technology

  • Passionate about building confidence and creativity in young people

  • Collaborative, positive, and ready to make a difference in a forward-thinking school

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply you’ll be fully supported by a strong department and an experienced mentor.
