Qualified Music Teacher – Secondary School

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is seeking to appoint a passionate and qualified Music Teacher to join its creative and high-performing Arts department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).

  • Teach a broad and balanced curriculum including performance, composition and music theory.

  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Music examinations.

  • Lead or contribute to extracurricular activities such as choir, band, orchestra or school productions.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

  • Work collaboratively within the Arts faculty to promote creativity across the school.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A degree in Music or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Music at secondary level.

  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of musical genres and disciplines.

  • Ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
