We’re looking for a warm, reliable French or Spanish teacher to join a friendly middle school community in rural Northumberland, teaching one day a week. There’s flexibility around the day, although Fridays would be ideal. You’ll be working on behalf of Protocol Education, supporting pupils to build confidence, curiosity and a genuine love of languages.
Set in a beautiful Northumberland village, this middle school sits at the heart of its local community. The school places real emphasis on kindness, respect and ambition, with a curriculum designed to broaden pupils’ horizons and help them look beyond their immediate surroundings. Languages play a key role in that journey, encouraging pupils to explore different cultures and ways of thinking in a supportive, nurturing environment.
In this role, you’ll plan and deliver engaging French or Spanish lessons that bring language learning to life. You’ll be working with enthusiastic pupils and a welcoming staff team who value creativity, consistency and positive relationships. It’s a great fit for a teacher who enjoys making a big impact in a small-school setting.
The role is one day per week, with a pay rate of £163–£251 per day, depending on experience. For the right candidate, the school would also be open to contributing towards travel time, recognising the rural location.
We’re keen to hear from teachers who are confident teaching French or Spanish, bring energy and warmth into the classroom, and enjoy working flexibly. Whether you’re looking to complement other work or want a steady weekly booking in a lovely school, this is a role where your expertise will genuinely be valued.
