Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker/Learning Mentor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our students, as well as mentoring them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one and group support to students experiencing mental health challenges.
- Develop and implement individual support plans tailored to students' needs.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support students’ well-being.
- Facilitate workshops and group activities focused on mental health and emotional well-being.
- Mentor students to help them set and achieve academic and personal goals.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and well-being.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Advocate for students’ mental health needs within the school setting.

Qualifications and Skills

- Relevant qualification in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with children in an educational or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting primary school-aged children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
