Protocol Education is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team and provide crucial support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school in Gateshead.
Position: Mental Health Support Worker
In this role, you will work with children who have diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex learning disabilities, and those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). As part of a supportive local authority, you will focus on delivering personalised support to help each child build self-esteem, achieve their personal targets, and develop a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Mental Health Support: Offer mental health support to children with SEMH needs in schools across Gateshead.
- Individualised Care: Work with children with ASC, complex learning disabilities, and EHCPs.
- Collaborate: Be part of a supportive local authority dedicated to tailored support for each child.
- Inspire and Motivate: Challenge and support each student to achieve their best, regardless of their needs.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Use effective behaviour management techniques to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Support Growth: Assist students in their personal and academic development.
