Mental Health Coach

Protocol Education are excited to take on a host of Mental Health Coaches for a variety of high-performing Primary Schools in Swindon, to help foster support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 children to start in September.

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Coach to join their dedicated team. The Role

As a Mental Health Coach, you will:

  • Provide tailored mental health and wellbeing support to students across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Develop and implement individual and group interventions to promote emotional resilience and positive mental health.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a supportive environment for all students.
  • Deliver training and workshops to staff and parents on mental health awareness and strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health interventions and adapt approaches as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one and small group sessions with students to address specific mental health concerns.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive mental health programs and initiatives within the school.
  • Identify students in need of additional support and create tailored intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to integrate mental health strategies into the broader school curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.

Requirements

  • A specialized background in mental health and wellbeing, ideally with qualifications in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the challenges facing young people today.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A proactive and positive approach, with a commitment to continuous professional development
