Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Severe Learning Difficulties & Communication Needs

Location: Cambridge 
Start: ASAP / January
Contract: Full-time, long-term

About the Setting:
A specialist provision supporting children with severe learning difficulties, significant communication needs, ASC, and sensory-based challenges. The environment is warm, creative, and highly individualised.

The Role:
We’re looking for LSAs who are passionate about inclusive practice and supporting children with high-level SEND.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support for pupils with significant needs

  • Assist with sensory regulation and structured learning routines

  • Support communication using PECS, visuals, objects of reference, or Makaton

  • Promote independence, engagement, and confidence

  • Contribute to a nurturing, positive classroom experience

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience within SEND or personal experience supporting disability

  • Comfortable with personal care (where required)

  • Warm, patient, adaptable

  • Strong team player

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
